When I was a kid, I would have spent a clear, moonlit night like this running around the neighborhood. I wasn’t worried about being abducted or getting Zika virus. I just wanted to catch more fireflies than my brother and hoped that the girl next door might kiss me.

It was better than Netflix.

I don’t feel sorry for the youth of this generation. They have many advantages. For one thing, I believe they’re more educated and aware of most things based on their ability to access and share information.

That said, I do wish that they could experience days spent running from yard to yard, playing tag, riding bikes through the woods and eating wild raspberries still warm from the sun.

Many things are improved these days but the 60's was a special time to be a kid.

It was better than Netflix.
