Supply delivery with Team Rubicon

If you’re looking for an opportunity to volunteer in a tangible and unique way, you may want to consider Team Rubicon (teamrubiconusa.org). Located in every state, they respond to emergencies across the country and around the world.

When the Maui wildfires hit on August 8th, I was looking for a volunteer organization that would help the Maui community quickly, directly and over the long-term. After joining Team Rubicon, I was soon working at distribution centers and transporting supplies to relief hubs. After receiving chainsaw training from Team Rubicon, I was part of 17-day, 60-person operation in Maui’s upcountry to assist with wildfire recovery and flood mitigation.

This past weekend, I participated in a cross-island meeting of Team Rubicon members to learn, train and plan for 2024. We were even able to volunteer at a nearby cultural reserve.

Through my involvement with Team Rubicon, I have been able to assist the community, learn new skills and meet a team of amazing people from across the islands and the continent.

If you’d like to be part of a ‘get shit done’ team of volunteers, then Team Rubicon just might be for you.
